Miguella and John got married on the island of Tobago in the Caribbean (of Trinidad and Tobago). Before their wedding day, they invited the bridal party on an extended afternoon of shenanigans on the water, including a glass bottom boat tour, beach bbq, snorkeling and lots of dancing.
Miguella was born in Trinidad and she and John try to return to the islands as often as they can. Their wedding weekend was not just about a celebration of them, but sharing a place they love with the people they love. One of the things that I enjoy is when couples make their wedding day/weekend/week your own.
It’s certainly a perk when you have a strong connection to a magical island paradise, but it could be anything. Rent a campground or a circle of cabins with friends in the mountains, rent a huge house that you can all hang out in (they did this too!). Invite everyone over for a pre-wedding potluck with yard games. Whatever it is that makes you YOU and enables you to spend stress-free time with the people you love, do it!
