If you are looking for a greenhouse wedding venue in Virginia, then Avonlea Farms should definitely be on your list.
There are only a handful of greenhouse wedding venues in the state, and most of them are only appropriate for true micro weddings. But Avonlea can seat up to 175 guests between their greenhouse and adjacent pavilion. If you have a smaller guest count, then just use the greenhouse. It’s not so big that it feels like it’s swallowing you like some venues do! If you have more than 175 guests and still want a greenhouse wedding venue then consider The Market at Grelen, which can handle up to 250.
Avonlea Farms is located in Louisa, Virginia, just outside of Richmond. The property is 64 acres. Most ceremonies take place in front of the stunning 250-year-old oak tree. But some are held in front of the small lake instead.
While there are no mountain views at Avonlea Farms, you can catch a beautiful sunset in one of the nearby fields.
I think the magic of a place like Avonlea Farms for your wedding is the venue beautifully blends the outdoors into your wedding.
Light, flowers, trees and foliage are all seamlessly woven into your wedding day aesthetic. Even if you add no additional decoration, it feels like a romantic garden party.
Kelsey and Mike opted for bold late summer/early fall colors for their late September wedding at Avonlea Farms.
Bridesmaids wore mismatched satan dresses and the groomsmen donned navy blue suits. The day was overcast, but it did not rain until after dark when we snuck out for some incredible rainy night portraits. A sunset peaked out briefly after their ceremony, turning the sky orange, red, and pink. These two got such a beautiful day and really were able to enjoy everything this incredible venue has to offer.
