Experience has given me this little secret when it comes to picking a micro wedding venue. The best venues are often not venues! At least, that’s not their primary role. That’s because dedicated event venues tend to be designed to accommodate large groups of people and can feel overwhelming for a smaller group.
One of the things I love about the Shenandoah Valley is all of the beautifully restored bed & breakfasts, inns and manor homes that flourish amid the Blue Ridge Mountains. However, even though I spent my teen years in Harrisonburg, I had never actually been in the Joshua Wilton House until Isabelle’s and Collin’s wedding. […]

Arielle and Mark were originally planning an intimate wedding at Lake Tahoe. But like many 2020 couples, COVID interfered with their plans. So they decided to elope in Shenandoah National Park instead. I don’t often work with a wedding planner for elopements, but for couples who really just want to show up and enjoy the […]
If you want epic mountain views, but aren’t big hikers (or are worried about makeup melting off in the summer heat), a Skyline Drive or Blue Ridge Parkway tour is definitely the way to go. A tour is basically my term for when we tackle a section of Skyline Drive or the Blue Ridge Parkway […]
