Virginia is home to two mountain ranges – the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains. Which means that if you are looking for a Virginia wedding venue with mountain views, you are in luck. There are a lot! But these are what I would consider the 14 best mountain wedding venues in Virginia. They […]
If you’re planning a micro wedding in Virginia, the first question for most people is “do I need a venue?” Most elopement couples can get away with doing their entire ceremony and post-ceremony celebration – with fewer than 15 participants – in public spaces like Shenandoah National Park. However, if you are hosting an intimate […]
VRBO is my go-to place to find epic vacation rentals for hosting a wedding. (Airbnb banned events at their properties as of 2020.) Luckily, a LOT of properties are cross-listed between the two platforms. Interested in other great wedding venues? Check out this blog post on the Best Wedding Venues in Roanoke. Irvine Estate is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Shenandoah Valley. It’s located in Lexington, a small town about an hour north of Roanoke and an hour south of Charlottesville. Most people choose Irvine Estate for their wedding because of the incredible views of the Allegheny Mountains from the wedding terrace. But […]
Gillian and Julia originally planned their industrial winter wedding for December of 2020. Arielle and Mark were originally planning an intimate wedding at Lake Tahoe. But like many 2020 couples, COVID interfered with their plans. So they decided to elope in Shenandoah National Park instead. I don’t often work with a wedding planner for elopements, but for couples who really just want to show up and enjoy the […]
I want to talk a little bit about something I’m super passionate about: printing your photos. I cannot emphasize this enough: A digital file should NOT be viewed as the end-product of your session. A printed photo or album needs to be. Here’s why: A couple of years ago when I was working as a […]
This summer has been one wild and crazy ride — mostly because it was my busiest wedding season ever and, simultaneously, I was in the final months of pregnancy. I’ve been really lucky with my pregnancy in that I’ve been healthy, had relatively few symptoms, and have been able to remain active for its entirety. […]
